Summer Wedding 2016

I have always been a fan of summer weddings…Particularly outdoor summer weddings. This theme makes me think of perfect warm weather, delicious food / beverage choices and bright fun colors that could be incorporated. I’ve been planning my wedding for a while now, and I have come across a few themes, but this one is definitely my favorite…

My favorite website for wedding inspiration is Pinterest, of course. After searching “Summer Wedding” I came across a few ideas that would be perfect for mine. I love this idea of handing out sunglasses as wedding favors to be put to use while your guests are watching you and your groom exchange “I do’s”

The natural lighting that you get from having an outdoor wedding is perfect for photography, but this can be a downside once the sun goes down. This idea of having hanging lights to brighten your reception area is perfect and looks so elegant!

Who doesn’t love backyard BBQ’s during the summertime? These BBQ pulled pork sliders, corn on the cob, fresh fruit, lemonade and iced tea will definitely add that summer vibe to your menu.

As far as your wedding colors go…Bright pastel colors are always gorgeous, but especially during this time of the year. Baby pink and mint green are some of my favorites.

Unique File Hanging Organizer

I wanted to share this unique hanging file organizer. I recently started designing my new home office and wanted my office to not only look nice, but implement some unique creative home office ideas.

Blog 2 copy

I ordered a Clear Hanging File Organizer from for $19.99 and I receive free two day shipping with my Prime account. Before purchasing this item, I did some shopping around and this product ended up being the best I could find online. I was planning on placing my File Organizer under my desk, but once I received my product, I came up with a better idea.

You are going to need the following:

  • Clear Hanging File Organizer
  • Common Nails 2 inch
  • A Hammer
  • Hanging file Folders

In order to hang your hanging file organizer correctly, you need to place it in-between two walls. Nail your common nails on your wall where the edges of your file organizer will be. Place your file organizer on top of the nails and your project is complete.

Rustic Wedding

Recently, I was contacted by Jessica through Etsy, who was looking for rustic Save the Dates. She came across my “Kiss Me” Save the date and thought it would fit her wedding theme. She then asked if I create Wedding Invitations? I briefly explained my custom made wedding invitation process and after hearing her ideas, we designed an amazing invitation. Please see the pictures below.

Here is Jessica’s story:

“My husband and I met 4 years ago, I was really skeptical, because those online things never turn out well. For some reason he was really convincing after talking for a while and I ended up agreeing to a date. I sent him my address so he could come pick me up.. Turns out he lived down the street from me for years!! We had a super “romantic” dinner at waffle house ( we both work late nights in the restaurant industry), capped the evening off with a goofy stroll through Wal-Mart and then basically decided to be friends from that point on. We both tried dating other people with unfortunate outcomes. They just never could stand up to our friendship. It’s hard to introduce your tall, dark, and handsome best friend to your boyfriend! So after about 3 years of that we broke down and tried that dating thing…long story short, he’s truly my best friend and my soul mate! We love being outdoors, sitting around fires, and spending time with our family! We really wanted our wedding to reflect that kind of casual fun. You’ve truly helped us capture that feel with our save the dates & invitations. I can’t thank you enough!!”

The Invitations below include the following:

  • Kraft Envelopes
  • Washed Jeans Cardstock
  • White Lace
  • Burlap Twine
  • Matte Wedding Invitations
  • Matte RSVP Card

Canon EOS Rebel T5 DSLR

Although I am not a photographer, I wanted a new camera to not only take pictures of my stationery work, but for everyday photos. Currently I have an iPhone 5s (yes I need to upgrade) and the picture quality to me is very poor. At first, I was going to wait and purchase an iPhone 6 but after months of research, I came to the conclusion that the newest iPhone wouldn’t make a big difference. I started to search on YouTube and Google for a DSLR camera that’s not only affordable, but that also takes amazing photos. One product that really caught my attention was the Canon EOS Rebel T5.

For beginners like myself, I had a lot of questions that I didn’t understand such as:

What’s DSLR:

“A digital single-lens reflex camera (also called a digital SLR or DSLR) is a digital camera combining the optics and the mechanisms of a single-lens reflex camera with a digital imaging sensor, as opposed to photographic film.”

The higher the megapixels, the better the Camera:

Having more megapixels “gives you a little IMG_3671extra room to play around with when you are cropping your photos.”

“Megapixels are great. They brought digital photography out of the dark ages and allowed photographers to make digital images that compare to film images. But megapixels are no reason to upgrade your current model. Instead, focus on a kind of image you would like to get and consider the limitations of your current camera model.”

After a little research, I bought a Canon EOS Rebel at best buy for $435 dollars, it was $300 off and it came with the following:

  • EOS Rebel T5 DSLR Camera
  • EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS, EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III
  • Batter pack LP-E10, battery charger LC-E10
  • USB interface cable IFC-130U
  • Wide strap EW-300D
  • EOS Shoulder Bag 100ES, Eyecup Ef
  • EOS Digital Solution Disc
